What Goes Around...

Sometimes it's nice to try something completely different for a change.  My compositions are generally more geometric, based on rectangles and squares.  Last week, after texturing the canvas, I decided to begin the painting with large, sweeping shapes.  Lots more texturing and metallic touches later and this spiral emerged.  I wish the sunlight outside had been brighter when I took this picture...there is no beige in the painting.  I finagled the best I could with Photoshop, but couldn't get the pale sage green quite right.  I'll try again on a sunnier day.

Just when I thought that 2011 would get off to a slow start, I got an email from ArtQuiver to inform me that one of my paintings had just sold.  That made my day and gave me the motivation to get busy in the studio again after taking a too long break for the Holidays.
