Promises Kept by Texas Contemporary Abstract Artist Filomena de Andrade Booth

Promises Kept
25"x25"x1.5"
Mixed-media on panel - framed

I'm so accustomed to working on canvas, that it was such fun to work on the rigid surface of a masonite panel for a change.  It allowed me to create plenty of raised textural elements, add collage, scraping, scrubbing and the whole gamut of techniques I like to include in my work without the worry of anything coming unglued.

I hope you will visit my website to see my entire portfolio of original abstract paintings.

Mixed Emotions by Texas Abstract Artist Filomena de Andrade Booth

Mixed Emotions
25"x25"x1.5"
Acrylic/Mixed-media on panel

A while back I decided to try painting on masonite panels.  I
created two paintings and have had them sitting around in my studio for a couple of months.  Because they were unframed, I really couldn't enjoy them the way they were meant to be viewed.  I decided to order some plain black satinwood  frames and boy, did that make all the difference.  Now the two paintings have "presence" and a sense of importance.  I guess paintings are like people - dress them up and you can take them places!!

If you are interested in purchasing this painting, please contact me at
