I know it feels like October is still a long way off, but it's really just around the corner.  Pretty soon cooler weather will be here and even though I'm living in Florida now, where it's perpetual summer, the days will be balmier and much cooler.

I am so excited about my next workshop here in beautiful Inverness, on the Nature Coast of Florida! I have reserved a beautiful workshop space in Ft. Cooper State Park.  You'll be surrounded by a natural paradise that will get your creative juices flowing!  So, make your reservation today and bring another artist friend, your spouse or significant other with you.  I promise they will not be bored while you're at the workshop.  We have golf courses, fishing, hiking, biking, shopping and plenty of restaurants nearby to keep them busy.

Aren't these paintings great?  They are the result of my 3 day Go Big, Go Bold abstract painting workshop at the Highland Arts Guild in Marble Falls, Texas. 

We had such a wonderful time and I can't tell you how happy I am with the hard work these ladies did. Don't ever let anyone tell you that their 5 year old can paint an abstract! It's hard work, especially for artists used to working realistically from subject matter. Learning new techniques with a medium one isn't familiar with is intimidating, but every journey starts with the first step. And, it's the journey that is so exciting!!

This fun, 3-day workshop is for the intermediate and advanced artist who is familiar with painting in acrylics and wants to loosen up by  experimenting  with innovative techniques of applying and manipulating paint on canvas.   

We will begin each day with a demo and a short discussion on how to establish a good composition.  Once that is done, we will dive right in and start having fun by applying paint loosely with brushes, tools and even hands!  We will learn how to paint intuitively, allowing the painting to lead the way and establish its own "voice". 

Students are encouraged to work on large canvases,  allowing  them the freedom to break loose and enjoy the painting process with no stress and lots of fun!
