High Tide

This exciting, textural abstract painting on canvas depicts the movement of the ocean waves as the high tide comes in.  Having lived on the Gulf coast of Florida, we rarely saw a tide come in with much force.  But on the Atlantic side of the state, the ocean rushes in quickly, washing away anything that is in its way.

Although I live in central Texas, and it rarely gets very frosty in the winter, I do remember cold, icy winter days after living in northern states for many years.  This painting was inspired by those memories of snowy days and trees coated with shimmery layers of ice.  Sunlight shining through the prism of ice created a glistening scene that still brings back memories.

 The Harbor

This painting is inspired by the docks and harbors that I visited as a child in New Jersey.  Many Sunday afternoon drives took us through the Port Newark area to watch cargo ships be loaded with goods destined for foreign lands.  If you look carefully, you'll see the loading crane and the pilings!

This heavily textured original abstract painting on canvas is wired and ready to hang.  The sides are painted a black/brown micaceous iron oxide and it does not need to be framed.  Only the finest professional acrylic paints have been used in the creation of this painting.

Cascade

This painting is my impression of cascading waters rushing over the rocks of a steep waterfall.  Lots of heavily applied acrylic paint, enhanced with sgraffito scratch outs, make this an exciting painting to experience.  Run your fingers over this heavily textured canvas and notice all the detail that went into creating this unique painting.

The canvas is stretched over 1.5" deep wood bars.  The sides are painted with Micaceous Iron Oxide, a textured gray/black paint and does not need to be framed.  The painting is wired and ready to hang.  Acrylic varnish has been applied to seal and protect the painting for years to come.   This painting is signed on the side, dated and signed on the back. 

Only the finest professional acrylic paints have been used in the creation of this painting.

This original abstract painting on watercolor paper is inspired by a family friend's pond in the Adirondack mountains.  In the fall, when the first warning of winter turned the leaves into a glorious display of color, the pond mirrored the kaleidoscopic panorama.

 

"Mac's Pond" is heavily textured, revealing subtle undertones that are not visible in this image.
The painting is bordered by 2" of white watercolor paper.   It is ready to be matted and framed or simply "floated" to show the deckle on all four sides.

(This painting was originally sold to a buyer who later decided to exchange it for another painting)

A note to all my artist friends!

My husband and I are preparing to move from our central Texas home to Florida to be near our sons and grandchildren.  We don't have an exact date yet, but I am using this "free" time to clear out some things I no longer need.
