Interlude II - Original Abstract Textural Red Painting by Texas Daily Abstract Artist Filomena de Andrade Booth

Interlude II
36"x30"x1.5"
Acrylic on Canvas

I've been working on getting the red in this painting as close to the actual painting for the last couple of days and this is about as close as I can get.  The image is a bit more "orangy" than the cadmium red that is in the painting.  I adjusted the white balance, used a polarizing filter to cut glare, photographed indoors with lights, photographed out doors without, and so it went.  Reds are hard to to get right!!

Great job getting the reds! Not easy to do. I love this as well as a lot of your recent works!

Thanks Martha! You're right, there's something about red that's hard for the camera to capture. Especially if there are subtle variations in the tones.
